Pumpkin Farm

One of the ways we celebrated our first wedding anniversary last year was by going to a pumpkin farm. We decided to make that a tradition and found a pumpkin farm down here to go to.

The price of admission included food to feed the longhorns (only in Texas!), goats and sheep they had. We had a lot of fun feeding and taking pictures of the longhorns.

Lee's favorite part of the pumpkin farm was the roping area.

Here are a few more pumpkin farm pictures.........

Oktober Fest

The last weekend in September we went to the Oktober Fest celebration in historic downtown McKinney. There was lots of German music, food and beer. We really enjoy going downtown. They have some fun events and cute shops and restaurants. Here are a few pictures....

Cowboys Game

No, we are NOT becoming Cowboys fans now that we live in Dallas. I will always be a Packer fan no matter where we live. Back in August, Lee and I went to a Cowboys pre-season game. They played the Denver Broncos and we had really good seats. We toured the sadium last August when we were in Dallas and Lee took our dads and my brother on a tour when we moved here but this was our first game at Cowboy Stadium.

The Cowboys players entrance

Lee with the famous TVs. They are pretty crazy to see in real life. On our tour, the guide told us there is a big star on top of the TVs. When the roof is open and the star is lit up, it can be seen 5 miles into space. This way God can watch his team.
Cowboy Sadium doesn't compare to Lambeau Field but we still had fun :)

Welcome to Texas!

Hello Everyone! I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog (Lee is just going along with it...hopefully I can get him to do some posts!) since we made the big move from Iowa to Texas. I thought this would be a fun way to share our adventures and keep in touch with everyone. We moved on July 1 so I will have to catch you up on what we've been doing since then. In this first post though, I thought I would show you around our apartment. Come on in y'all! (Yes, pretty much everyone in Texas says y'all. I kind of secretly hope I will pick up on saying that someday :)When you walk in the door, to the left is the kitchen. The kitchen is pretty nice with granite counters, a breakfast bar and a small pantry closet.

To the right of the front door is a coat closet and small hall with a laundry closet. At the end of the small hall is the bathroom. There is also a door to the bathroom from the bedroom.

Our bedroom is pretty simple. We don't want to do too much to decorate this apartment since we want to move when our lease ends. This place is a little too small for us. The room does have a pretty big closet. Here are the pictures....

Past the kitchen is the dining room/living room. It is one big room that we separated into a dining area and living room. Here is a look from the balcony door looking back toward the kitchen.

Here are a few dining area pictures....

And now the living room....

I didn't take any pictures of the balcony. It is tiny and can only fit the grill and one person on it pretty much. There is a storage closet off the balcony which is nice. So that is our apartment. We would love to have visitors so feel free to come down anytime! By the way, it has cooled down here finally. It isn't constantly 107 degrees, so it is safe to come visit :)
